About Megan
Her Alliance is led by Megan, ACA registered counsellor with a background in nursing, counselling and social care.
For over 15 years, Megan has worked across health, community and social support settings, supporting women through periods of change, pressure and emotional strain.
Her foundation in nursing provides an integrated understanding of how mental health connects with physical health, hormonal changes and the broader demands many women carry in midlife.
This perspective allows counselling to move beyond surface-level symptom management, looking instead at the biological, psychological and social factors shaping how things feel.
At Her Alliance, counselling is structured, thoughtful and grounded in real-life complexity, helping women understand what’s happening beneath the surface and develop practical ways to move forward.

Across years of work in health, community and social care settings, one pattern appeared repeatedly. Many capable, responsible women were managing significant internal strain while continuing to function in daily life.
They were working, caring for others, maintaining responsibilities and appearing outwardly “fine” yet experiencing increasing anxiety, emotional fatigue, health concerns or a growing sense that something internally had shifted.
These women often did not fit neatly into traditional mental health categories, yet the pressure they were carrying was very real.
Her Alliance was created to support this space.
The practice focuses on the intersection of mental health, physical health, life transitions and the complex roles many women hold, particularly through midlife and hormonal change.
Midlife is not simply a life stage.
Hormonal fluctuations can affect mood regulation, sleep, anxiety sensitivity and cognitive clarity. Long-term relational patterns often resurface under new pressures. Late ADHD diagnoses in women may become more visible as established coping strategies begin to strain. Career plateaus, caregiving responsibilities and ageing parents increase executive load, while identity itself becomes confusing, the roles that once defined you may no longer feel sufficient or sustainable.
This is not pathology, it is multifaceted and complex, requiring a practitioner who understands both the psychological and physiological dimensions of change.
Outside the room I’m also a mother of two, navigating the same balancing act many women know well, work, family, health and the ongoing recalibration midlife often brings.
Like many women, I understand how easily your own needs can move to the bottom of the list while you continue showing up for everyone else.
That lived perspective is part of what shapes Her Alliance.
The counselling space here is designed to feel thoughtful, calm and grounded in real life not clinical or disconnected from the realities women are navigating every day.
Alongside Her Alliance, I’m also the founder of The Packed with Care Foundation, a charity supporting women and families experiencing difficult periods of life through practical and emotional support.
When I’m not working you’ll usually find me near the beach, spending time with family, or with animals, the simple things that help keep life balanced.

Designed for women who are functioning on the outside but privately stretched.
Support that is structured, evidence-based, and grounded in real-world complexity.
We work on:
This is structured, evidence-based, and grounded in real-world complexity.
Therapy that actually fits your life.
Sessions are reflective, yet structured, insight is consistently paired with implementation.
Together, we examine:
From there, we develop strategies that extend beyond the therapy room and integrate into your everyday reality.
Because clarity without change is insufficient.
Insight must translate into measurable shift.
Counselling at Her Alliance is collaborative and personalised.
We don’t follow a rigid structure or focus only on symptom management, instead we work together to understand your experiences, explore what’s beneath them, and develop insight and tools that feel relevant and real.
You will be supported with evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy but it will always feel like a conversation, not a checklist.
Anything that’s on your mind is welcome here, there’s no “right” topic.
Some clients come in wanting to understand patterns they’re stuck in, others want support with anxiety, overwhelm, health distress, or emotional burnout. Sometimes it’s just a feeling that something isn’t working anymore.
Whether your concerns are clear or hard to name, we can explore them together.
Our first session is about getting to know you.
We will talk about what’s brought you here, what you’ve been feeling and what you’d like to get out of therapy, whether that’s clarity, insight, skills or just a place to think out loud.
You can share as much or as little as you’re comfortable with. There’s no expectation to go deep right away. This is your space, and we’ll work at your pace.
Sessions are 60 minutes and held face-to-face located in Springfield Lakes. You can attend weekly, fortnightly, or as-needed, whatever suits your life and your emotional needs.
You decide what feels sustainable and supportive.
Counselling for Women in Midlife
At Her Alliance, our values guide every part of how we work, with care, integrity, and respect for the complexity of women’s lives.
Counselling that’s honest, grounded, and responsive to your real-life experiences not surface-level advice or clinical detachment.
Our work is evidence-based and clinically informed because women deserve support they can trust. We use proven therapeutic approaches delivered with warmth and insight.
You’ll never be rushed, judged, or minimised here. We create a space where you can be real, take your time, and feel heard without needing to explain or apologise.
We recognise the reality of what women carry. Across health, roles, relationships, and identity. We bring insight to the unspoken and validate what’s often overlooked.
We don’t tell you what you need, we help you discover it. Counselling is collaborative and respectful, centred on your needs, goals and values, built on your terms, not ours.
Change doesn’t happen through pressure or quick fixes. We move with care and purpose making space for clarity, reflection, and outcomes that actually make sense in your life.
