ABOUT HER ALLIANCE

Reshaping women’s health.

Her Alliance bringing together specialist women’s health therapy, research and advocacy to contribute to better outcomes for women.

We start with a simple premise: women’s lived experience matters.

Women’s health is shaped by more than a diagnosis, biology, hormonal and life-stages, identity, relationships, work, and the systems women rely on all influence how women experience their health and wellbeing.

Through specialist therapy, research and advocacy, Her Alliance brings together women’s lived experience, professional practice and evidence, using what we learn to better understand women’s health, improve support and advocate for better outcomes.

Minimalist line art of a woman's profile in a circle.

Women shouldn’t have to keep adapting to systems that haven’t adapted to them.

For generations, women have been under-represented in health research and expected to navigate fragmented systems that do not always account for the realities of women’s lives.

There is also a significant space between being “fine” and reaching crisis. It is where many women continue working, caring, managing symptoms, navigating change and getting on with life, often without support that properly connects the physical, psychological and everyday parts of what they are experiencing.

Her Alliance was created to work differently.

We listen to what women tell us. We build evidence around their experiences. We provide specialist support informed by women’s health. And we use what we learn to contribute to greater awareness, stronger advocacy and better responses for women.

Because better outcomes for women start with understanding women properly.

Megan | Founder, Her Alliance

Women’s health practitioner, researcher and advocate

Megan founded Her Alliance after more than 15 years working across health and community settings and seeing the same issue from different sides: women’s physical health, psychological wellbeing and everyday lives are deeply connected, but the systems supporting them do not always work that way.

Megan is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), specialising in women’s health. Her professional background began in nursing, including experience in women’s health, before moving into counselling and psychology. Currently undertaking postgraduate studies.

Her background across physical and psychological health has shaped a particular professional interest in women’s health, hormonal and life-stage change and what happens when symptoms, identity, relationships, work, responsibilities and emotional wellbeing intersect.

Alongside clinical practice, Megan undertakes research into women’s health and lived experience and is involved in community initiatives and advocacy aimed at improving understanding and outcomes for women. Her work through Her Alliance brings those perspectives together: clinical experience, evidence and women’s lived experience each informing the other.

Beyond the room

Megan’s perspective has been shaped by professional practice and by lived experience of health, changing roles and the demands of work and family life. That experience sits alongside, not in place of, professional knowledge and contributes to how she understands the complexity of women’s lives.

Her work extends beyond individual practice into research, community initiatives and advocacy, creating opportunities to bring women’s experiences into broader conversations about their health, wellbeing and the systems designed to support them.

For Megan, better outcomes begin with bringing evidence, professional practice and women’s lived experience into the same conversation.
